Astrology Bits for February 2025 (& Welcome)!

Hello and welcome! After years of studying and practicing astrology (with a bow of gratitude for the astrological indulgence of many friends and family) I have decided to take the plunge and energetically establish my lil cosmic dwelling along the vast continuum of astrological history and practitioners. And I couldn't be more excited - and nervous. But as a dear friend encouraged, the world needs loving, inclusive and joyful energy now more than ever. My hopes in this blog space is to offer astrological bits & highlights related to monthly planetary positioning and transits, and offer intuitive insights into how the energy of such shifts may show up in our daily lives. Additionally, I hope to share regular oracle card readings, introducing you to the Fairies' Oracle by Brian Froud & Jessica Macbeth (a deck that's near and dear to my heart).
If my offerings through Randee Joy Astrology can contribute in any small way to cultivating more peace, joy and compassion both within and without, I will consider this venture a success. May you be happy, safe, and walk with an ease of heart.

We are in deep winter here in the northeastern US and for the first 2/3 of February we are traversing the fixed, air sign of Aquarius - bringing us into the energies of maintenance, sustainability and dependability. In this middle section of winter, we are invited into ourselves to explore questions around "what sustains us?" and "what is unique to us that we can share and express with the world?" Also, this humanitarian sign asks of us to consider our fellow humans and how we can be of service. The sun is in detriment in this sign, which can invite us to examine how we give and show up for others, with less of an emphasis on the self, and can sprinkle us with the courage to stand out and stand against that which we see as unjust and inhumane. These attributes are inherent to this sign and one of the many gifts that aquarian energy can put forth.

Fairy Card Reading for the Month
And finally, I'd like to offer an inaugural fairy card reading from the Fairies' Oracle deck. This deck is subdivided into several "families" of cards and today's card The Piper comes from the Sidhe family - the People of the Hills - alchemical cards that transform universal energies into manifest reality. (meditation below)
The Piper embodies the magical power of music. More precisely, melody. And this "melody" is a tune that if we quiet our minds and bodies, we can hear within ourselves. This is the low hum of our heart, our blood, our soul in the flesh. When we are quiet, we are able to tap into deep emotional and empathic communication with ourselves and others. This can become the pathway towards finding harmony. This is a time to practice deep tenderness with ourselves and others. At its best, this energy allows for the bringing in of a gentle tune of peace and love to the world around us. When this energy gets twisted, we can feel as if we are lost in a dreamscape, a land of melodies that hypnotize and mesmorize us. The piper's call is twofold: Tune in and stay grounded.
Meditative Questions:
How would I describe my innermost melody at this time? What music am I moving to at this point in my life? Am I in control of this current?
Where in my life do I feel most grounded? What does that feel like, to be grounded...and how can this energy be shared with others?
Where in my life do I feel unbalanced or that I've lost my footing? How can I bring more tenderness and compassion to that space?
