Welcome Pisces Season

The Sun entered the sign of Pisces on February 18th, heralding in the season of the two fish. And honestly, I'm ready to enter the dreamscape of this mutable water sign. Traditionally, Pisces is ruled by the planet Jupiter and from this rulership we can glean insights into the nature and energies of this season. Take my hand...
Late February to Late March
We are catching glimpses of the end of winter here in the northeastern US and for this period of time we are solar travelers in the mutable, water sign of Pisces. Jupiter informs us of the nature of this season and offers us energies of growth, expansiveness, compassion, wisdom and optimism. Here lies the potential for real unity around what is humane and connective between us. Pisces reminds us of the duality of light and dark, and we are encouraged to find peace by going with the flow and accepting the cosmic balance that is at play.
We are swimming in watery realms during this time so its important to have some solid footing, somewhere, else we may get pulled adrift out to sea where we can lose perspective and our sense of individual self. Venus is exalted in this sign, and this engages us to honor where in our lives we find pleasure, joy and play. We may not be able to tap into our detail-oriented selves as easily right now, but there is a time and place for letting go and this certainly is it. As Renn Butler writes in The Archetypal Universe, "Jupiter's expansive nature seeks to draw our awareness back toward an identification with the larger universe and a more inclusive understanding of our cosmic status within it."

The Unity card is the first card of this deck, and part of the Singer family. The Singer cards speak to the connective fabric of the universe at large.
